What a year this has been! I've had a great time publishing Faith, Feelings and Poetry as well as co-publishing Inspirational Poetry by Southern Chicks with my good friend Carol J. Hagan. We had a great time during the signings for Inspirational Poetry.
I've had some time off the past few weeks which has enabled me to spend some time pushing the books. Several Christian bookstores in North Carolina and one in Kentucky are now carrying copies of all my books!
During my time off, I have had a lot of time to think about this year. When it comes to writing, I think about how great it would be to have a book that would just take off in sales. But, God soon reminds me that the reason he gave me the passion for writing was to give Him glory. It's never been about drawing attention to myself, but rather about Him and the reader!
I write in hopes of bringing glory to God for always being there with me through all the stuff that goes on in my life - the tough situations, through illness and for each step forward I make. We've all been through tough times this year, I am sure. It has been some of these difficult situations that have inspired some of my poetry. So, I guess some would say that the light of goodness in the difficulties still came shining through.
Thank goodness, God's grace and mercy have far out weighed the difficulties this year has brought! Which leads me to be able to say, "This year - wow!"
